Orange Beach gets $1.5 million for a shooting complex clubhouse; Boggy Point launch to be rebuilt

The money comes from the latest round of offshore-revenue GoMESA grants announced by Gov. Kay Ivey.

Orange Beach will receive $1.5 million from the Gulf of Mexico Energy Security Act for a clubhouse at the Orange Beach Shooting Complex, 23172 Russian Road, which opened in August 2025 with five trap and skeet fields. The council must accept the agreement before plans go to bid; the city expects construction to start next year.

The state also awarded $2.95 million for an Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources rebuild of the Boggy Point Boat Launch, including new piers and ramps and an all-asphalt parking area.
