Gulf Shores: last call for hurricane re-entry passes is noon Thursday
City offices close to the public after noon Thursday so crews can finish storm preparations.
Gulf Shores will keep handing out hurricane re-entry passes at City Hall and the Gulf Shores City Store until noon Thursday, Oct. 8. The city said its forecasts indicated the area was likely to come under a Hurricane Warning overnight, and a city resolution stops pass distribution once a warning is issued; the noon deadline is a final window.
All city offices close to the public after noon Thursday. Residents and business operators who miss the deadline can get a pass after the storm at the new Gulf Shores Justice Center, 312 Medical Village Blvd. Eligibility and document requirements are on the city's hurricane decal page.
The city also asked residents to stop putting trash, yard debris and bulk items at the road until the storm has passed, and said sand is available at the Gulf Shores Sportsplex, 19025 Oak Road West, for residents who bring their own bags and shovels.
